THE ROCKIES AND DIAMONDBACKS Completion: 2011
When the White Sox vacated Tucson to move to Glendale in 2009, Tucson's two remaining spring tenants started making plans to leave, too. In July 2009, the Diamondbacks and Rockies announced an agreement to move into a brand-new complex to be built just east of Scottsdale on Indian-controlled land. That sprawling, state-of-the-art complex is now open, and you can read our full review with plenty of pictures -- including a shot of the plaque the ballpark won by being Baseballparks.com's Ballpark of the Year for 2011. HKS was the architect for the project.
