Sarasota pledged $17 million toward renovating Ed Smith Stadium in an attempt to keep the Reds' spring training in their city. The team is currently eying a move to Goodyear, AZ, though ... The Yankees have renamed their spring ballpark Steinbrenner Field ... Speaking of the Bronx Bombers, big surprise: the first billion-dollar ballpark will belong to the Yankees. The team's COO divulged that the total price to replace the current Yankee Stadium with a new facility (left), which is currently under construction, will be about $1.2 billion. |
