Quite an experience

Whether or not you were present for the record-shattering event at the LA Coliseum last Saturday night, you'll enjoy reading our thoughts and seeing pictures from the incredible experience. What an extraordinary evening!

National Treasure

Washington's Nationals Park is now a reality. The photo above shows that the team shot fireworks when Ryan Zimmerman hit the game-winning HR in the bottom of the ninth of the first regular-season game there. We'll have an in-depth review (with plenty of photos) shortly.

Big League Ballpark Notes

Marana, Arizona is interested in constructing a new spring-training complex for the Rockies, who currently train at an aging complex (left) in Tucson -- and the Rockies are listening ... For the third time in the past four springs, an all-time attendance record for spring training was set this year. The average crowd per game topped 8,000 for the first time in 2008 ... The Dodgers have a lot on their minds these days, what with a new manager and figuring out the logistics of playing a game at the ancient Coliseum. But what about the parking situation at Dodger Stadium, which has led to enormous outcry? ... Although construction hardly appears to be on schedule, the Dodgers announced that they will indeed conduct spring training in Glendale, AZ in 2009.

Visitors in March: 34,326. Since the site started: over 1.3 million!
