Webmaster Joe Mock (right) presented the 2007 Ballpark of the Year Award to Phil Elson of the Arkansas Travelers Tuesday. The award is for the team's exceptional Dickey-Stephens Park, which is now sporting a very impressive museum.

The city council of Goodyear, AZ voted 6-0 to approve $33 million to expand their spring training complex (where construction has already started -- see left) so the Reds can join the Indians there. Sarasota, the Reds' current spring home, is now looking for a new tenant ... The concession contract at Yankee Stadium is a big one, but the current vendor there (Centerplate, which just took over concessions at new Nationals Park) has been informed that they will not be retained for the team's new park ... Speaking of the food at ballparks, Forbes Magazine studied the healthiest and unhealthiest snacks you can consume while at the ol' ball game! ... Marana, Arizona is interested in constructing a new spring-training complex for the Rockies. |
