The winner is ...

Our Ballpark of the Year is Dickey-Stephens Park, the new home of the Arkansas Travelers. Read the announcement as it appeared on the Texas League site and our in-depth review of this gorgeous facility. This is the 7th year for our annual award.

Driller options

260 miles up the Arkansas River from Dickey-Stephens is where the Tulsa Drillers are likely to get a new ballpark -- but exactly where along the river? The Journal-Record business paper provides a great summary of the options.

Big League Ballpark Notes

A couple of big-league ballparks are preparing for offseason renovations. Dodger Stadium is utilizing HKS to design improvements to the field-level concourse, and will spend $70M implementing them, and Chase Field in Phoenix will be the home of the largest high-definition video screen in pro sports ... The ideal to replace the aging Orange Bowl with a new ballpark for the Marlins seems to be gaining traction, although the subject wasn't discussed in detail when Commissioner Selig met with Miami-Dade officials Tuesday ... The proposal to rebuild the spring-training stadium for the Reds in Sarasota isn't dead yet. If Sarasota city voters approve partial funding for the project, County Commissioners might revisit providing most of the rest ... The Twins finally held the groundbreaking ceremony for their new park Thursday.
