Big League Ballpark Notes
A lot of you have been flocking to big-league parks this year, because MLB announced it has broken its all-time attendance record ... MLB's website reports construction of the Nationals' new park, due to open next April, is coming along well ... The AP has reported that exhibition games featuring MLB teams could be held in China next March, most likely at the ballpark that will be used in the Summer Olympics next year ... Soon, the Indians will no longer play in Jacobs Field (left). No, they're not moving. They've decided a new name for their current park is in order, and they've hired IMG to find a sponsor. No word on when the new moniker will be unveiled. ... Cubs fans Teri and Paul Fields have named their first child Wrigley. Yes, that makes his name Wrigley Fields. |
