Camden Yards

See you at The Yards

When Oriole Park at Camden Yards (the locals typically refer to it as "Camden Yards" or "The Yards") opened in Baltimore in 1992, it changed forever the way teams, fans and accountants looked at baseball parks. The teams themselves realized that you could provide an aesthetically pleasing facility that is integrated beautifully into an urban setting, and the ticket-buyers would stream in. The fans enjoyed being comfortable in a nostalgic park. Accountants liked counting all the money that was generated from higher ticket prices, more concessions, more luxury boxes and bigger crowds!

One area of the ballpark that generates a lot of revenue for the team is the plaza at the base of the old B&O Warehouse (above left). Here are food kiosks (including the famous Boog's Bar-B-Q), stores and bars.

While sell outs aren't as common as they were during the mid-1990s, you'll still want the best seats when you attend a game in Baltimore. Therefore, click here for tickets for Camden Yards.

By the way, BASEBALLPARKS.COM is so impressed with Camden Yards that there is a special Camden Collection set of pages!
