The Jake

I've always felt a little conflicted about Cleveland's Jacobs Field. It has interesting architecture that blends well with its surroundings, the views of downtown are nice, and the fans are great. However, the first time I attended a game here, I felt like there were competing themes. It seems to me that there are modern elements and "throw-back" elements, but the two didn't mesh very well. It wasn't something I could put my finger on, but it was always evident that it is a great place to watch a game.

I have to admit, though, that as the years have gone by, my feelings toward the Jake have softened, and every time I go to see the Indians, I appreciate the architecture more and more. I see that there is a lot of "Cleveland" in the exposed steel (to resemble nearby bridges) and the park has a distinctive Indians buzz about it. Did you see the way that place rocked during the 2007 post-season?

During the 1990s, everyone in baseball knew that a lot of fans watched games here, as the Indians' string of consecutive sell-outs has never been equalled. You don't want to be shut out from the best seats at Jacobs Field, so click here.
