Kauffman Stadium

Greatest feature in any ballpark -- and now improved!

I said it in my book. I said it on Pat Sajak's American League Ballpark Tour show on the Travel Channel. And heaven knows I've said it here in BASEBALLPARKS.COM. I think the fountains at Kansas City's Kauffman Stadium are the single best feature of any ballpark anywhere. They are simply perfect. And this way-before-its-time beauty of ballpark is just about perfect, too.

And now that the showplace has undergone a quarter-billion-dollar-facelift, it's even better ... and fans' access to those fountains is greatly enhanced. You can now walk right in front of them, and the incredible new outfield concourse beyond the fountains allows you to gaze at the seating bowl through those geysers (as in the photo above).

And while the seating bowl is fairly similar to its pre-renovation state, the exterior is radically different. It gives it a more modern and distinctive look (above right).

You'll want to look at our photo essays on the park's renovations and on the awesome Royals Hall Of Fame that was a part of the park's facelift.
