Hi Corbett Field of Tucson

Tucked within Randolph Park east of downtown Tucson is Hi Corbett Field, formerly the home of the city's Pacific Coast League Sidewinders (who for years were called the Toros).  Well, the minor-league team moved south of town into the gorgeous new Tucson Electric Park, meaning the lone (pro) tenant uses Hi Corbett just for Spring Training.  That team is the Colorado Rockies.

The photo above was taken at a Rockies' exhibition game in 2004.  Note the mountains beyond the grandstand.

To be honest, this is not the most impressive of Arizona's parks, but fans have been flocking here for many years.  Rockies fans pour into the park every March to watch their beloved team -- and to escape the weather in Colorado!  Don't forget that you can head a few miles south and find the complexes surrounding Tucson Electric Park, where you can see two different teams train . . . and an extremely nice stadium.

By the way, when in Tucson, BASEBALLPARKS.COM stays at the Lazy-8 Motel on the southern edge of town.  The people there will treat you great!
