Wow, everything looks different!

Welcome to the brand-new BaseballParks.com!  As our site was approaching its 20th year (and how many other websites can say that?), we felt that another set of renovations was in order.  We hired Altair Technology (the company that has expertly hosted our site since 2001) to change e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g about the format and look of the site.  And that’s exactly what they did.

I wanted the new look to emphasize two things …

First, I knew that our site has something you can’t find anywhere else: in-depth reviews of every MLB, spring-training and affiliated Minor League ballpark that has opened over the past 15 years.  That is the heart of the site, and I wanted to showcase those reviews, because each one takes me anywhere from 40 to 80 hours to prepare (interviewing the movers and shakers who made the park happen, doing background research, editing photos), in addition to actually traveling to the facility to examine everything.  So that’s why the reviews are highlighted at the top of the home page of the new site.  I also like to show off my photography, too!

The second point to emphasize are these posts with nuggets of ballpark news.  For years, our home page has featured a Big League Ballparks News & Notes section, with links to articles regarding MLB parks.  While I have no desire to attempt to duplicate the wonderful, diligent, comprehensive news entries of Ballpark Biz (a site I highly recommend), I will post items that I think will be of interest to you, while giving you my take on the goings on.

With a transition of this magnitude, the new site will be a work in progress for some time to come.  We will work on converting the pages to the new format, but in the meantime, you’ll still be able to access the content of the old site via links here in the new site.  While this isn’t a perfect approach, it should suffice in the short run.  So please be patient with us.

Most items will have an area at the bottom for you to post comments.  Please do so!  We want to know what you think!  Please note that comments left at the end of articles that first appeared on the old site don’t show up here.  Sorry.  There was nothing we could do about that … so go ahead and add some new comments!

And don’t hesitate to email us using the CONTACT link at the top of every page to ask specific questions or give us feedback about the new site.  We want to know what you think and how it could work better for you!

So thanks for visiting us … and please come back often!
